The U.S. capital city is a destination that is absolutely packed with excellent sightseeing, historic monuments and poignant memorials. Many of the top sights on the Washington DC attractions list are totally free, including the Smithsonian museums, National Gallery of Art and the Smithsonian National Zoo.   • Is there a walking tour of DC?

    Yes! DC by Foot offers free, family-friendly tours with games, trivia and fun facts (gratuity recommended). Tours include the Twilight Washington Bus Tour, the Lincoln Assassination Walking Tour and the Arlington Cemetery Walking Tour.
  • Which attractions require tickets?

    Many things to in the DC area are free, but not all. You’ll need tickets for the Newseum, Crime Museum, Ford’s Theatre, the Washington Monument, International Spy Museum, U.S. Holocaust Memorial and the Presidents’ Gallery by Madame Tussauds.
